One of the problems with anything that is contingent on specific Hardware is that it is quite difficult to test or carry out any diagnosis but it now looks possible with the advent of VMware 5.5 it is now possible to mimic Intel NIC’s and as such it might actually be possible to replicate a CAG on VMware 5.5.
Check out the discussion here at VMware
**Caveat** This is on VMware 5.5!
In essence this is quite simple - as reported in the VMware VMTN Discussion Forums by Petje, all that is needed is to simply create a new Virtual Machine using Other, Other (make sure the HD is IDE 40Gb, it doesn’t need to be allocated) - add an additional nic and a serial port - then modify your VMX file to include these two lines so that they are seen as Intel NIC’s:
ethernet0.virtualDev = e1000
ethernet1.virtualDev = e1000
You’re sorted Mate!!
